Accidents for motorcyclists can be very traumatic experiences thatand will often continue to have an effect long after the physical injuries have healed. The recovery period will often be long and painful and may result in a lengthy period not working. This can have a major effect on those who are reliant on their transport to get to work or indeed carry out their work, such as motor cycle couriers or those working for the police. In some cases loss of earnings may occur and have a detrimental effect on family life, during the recuperation period. If you have suffered an accident or injury while riding your bike and another party is at fault you may be able to pursue a claim against this party and seek compensation for your injuries and / or financial loss. This is why it is vital that the correct levels of cover in an insurance policy are chosen. Not all motorcycle insurance policies may provide Legal Expenses Insurance which could provide the necessary funding to enable a claim to be made and provide you with the necessary funding to cover the other parties legal fees should your claim fail. However if you don’t have this type of cover on your policy don’t worry. You can still make a claim using a specialist solicitor.

A specialist solicitor will provide you with a realistic view of whether your claim will be successful or not, and should provide an indication of how long a claim may take to pursue and complete. They will also be able to advise you on the types of funding that may be available to support your claim. Should you have a valid claim then you should also be provided with an indication of the potential value a successful claim may provide. A specialist solicitor may also be able to obtain an interim payment to you while your case progresses in order that you can maintain as normal a life as possible during the progression of the case. When it comes to paying fees, the solicitor should be able to place you in a situation that ensures that, if your claim is successful, you will receive 100% of the claim value and that your solicitors’ fees are borne by the party at fault. If you loose your case the solicitor should also have been able to provide you with advice that would ensure you did not incur the added expense of solicitor fees from the other party. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of being involved in a motorcycling accident then it is reassuring to know that you may be able to pursue a claim against those responsible and receive some compensation for any injuries sustained or for financial loss. Importantly, you should also be able to do this at no cost to you.
